Vehicles
In 4JAS, Currently we have two vehicles being used by the group. Both are listed below.
1943 Ford GPW,
This jeep was built in 1943 and as far as we can tell by reasearching so far was used as a stretcher carrying Jeep. Other details are currently being re-searched and will be added here shortly.
The Jeep's role in the group now, is to help educate people on military vehicles of the time and provides that extra bit of kit for a display. Its also used to transport members around at events for the more authentic look.
1943 Kubelwagen,
This Kubelwagen was built in 1943 as well as the Jeep above. This Kubelwagen we have saw service in Normandy prior to the D-Day landings in June 1944.
The Kubelwagens role in the group now is to help educate people of military vehicles from the time and from the German Army during the second world war.
It is also used for displays with in the group and we use it mostly as a captured vehicle. Currently it is being re-restored.
With both these vehicles in 4JAS our aim is to show the difference between these two military vehicles from the U.S Army and the German Army from the second world war. To help educate and learn how they were used and what their roles were on both sides.
